Overview
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well‑established engineering and manufacturing company based in Sheffield. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of products in various industries.
Key Responsibilities
* Design mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery using SolidWorks.
* Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models.
* Design sheet metal components and welded fabrications to manufacturing standards.
* Support machinery and automotive design projects from concept through to manufacture.
* Liaise with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost effective.
* Generate BOMs and technical documentation.
* Support prototype builds, testing and design improvements.
Skills and Experience Required
* Strong experience using SolidWorks (essential).
* Background in mechanical design within fabrication, machinery or automotive environments.
* 2 Years+ experience in Mechanical Design.
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* BSc / BEng qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design / Product Design Engineering or similar.
