Responsibilities
* Performing complex structure and aircraft installations, repairs, rework, and tests.
* Completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, testing, inspections, installations, modifications and component changes of aircraft structures, components, and test equipment
* Inspecting, testing and evaluating structural damage.
* Completing required paperwork, certifications and releases for work completed to meet airworthiness standards.
* Troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems.
* Complying with all safety regulations.
* Ensuring aircraft is ready for authorization or certification for maintenance release following any maintenance or repairs to the applicable airworthiness standard.
* Ensuring all parts and assembly meet requirements in accordance with approved data.
* Reporting unserviceable parts to the Person Responsible for Maintenance
* Investigating aircraft system deficiencies and faults; find or discuss possible rectifications with applicable manuals and documents e.g., service bulletins and drawings.
* Managing all parts and disposition of parts in assigned workstation by using proper documentation.
* Instructing and assisting other team members in interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders.
* Training other team members in methods and procedures
* Work is done mostly indoors - AC in the summer and heated in the winter
Requirements
* Must have valid Transport Canada Issued M1 License.
* Ensure all Inspections and Airworthiness requirements are carried out before releasing Aircraft
* Must have at Least 2 (two) Years experience as an ACA working on General Aviation/Light Aircraft.
* Must have working Knowledge of the CARs and AMO operation with regards to Certification of M1 Aircraft.
* Provide evidence of working as an ACA releasing M1 Aircraft.
* Competence in performing Inspection and Release of Piston Powered Composite Aircraft.
* Must have Proven Experience working in an AMO.
* Must be a Team Player and be able to Mentor and Lead a Team of Technicians under your Supervision.
* Must have personal Safety Gears.
* Must be able to work 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) and Overtime as needed.
* Must be able to work flexible shifts dependent on customers requests.
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
* Familiar with all functions of components and systems for installation
* Experience with Fixed wing and piston engine maintenance for M1
* Possess skill in close tolerance work, e.g., drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.
* Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices with ability to use within specified tolerance.
* Ability to use computer programs such as Excel and Word
* Ability to navigate systems such as Smarteam and Navision considered an asset.
