Health, Safety & Environment Advisor £45,000 progression Multiple sites (Leicestershire) Real ownership. Real visibility. Real impact. I’m supporting a rapidly growing food manufacturer that’s investing heavily in people, sites, and long‑term capability — and they’re now looking to add two HSE Advisors to their team as part of a wider expansion plan. This isn’t a “sit in the office writing policies all day” type of role. This is a hands‑on, shop‑floor‑visible, take‑ownership position where you’ll be the face of HSE across your site. If you want to be somewhere that’s scaling fast, has major projects in the pipeline, and genuinely values HSE as part of its culture — this is worth a look. Why this role stands out • A business on a serious upward curve — new site investment, site extensions, and even early conversations about another potential site. • A lean structure where you’re not buried under layers of hierarchy — Head of HSE Advisors. Your voice matters here. • Huge scope for quick wins — plenty of processes and systems ready for someone to tighten, improve, and own. • Clear progression opportunities, including a future step into HSE Manager for the right person. • A culture that values simplicity, practicality, and visibility — not bureaucracy. What you’ll be doing You’ll be responsible for driving day‑to‑day HSE standards across multiple Leicestershire sites, including: • Delivering training, toolbox talks, inductions, and on‑the‑floor coaching • Reviewing and creating risk assessments, SSOWs, COSHH assessments, DSE, manual handling, lone working, young workers, etc. • Leading site inspections, walkarounds, and reporting • Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis • Working closely with engineering on contractor safety and permit‑to‑work • Supporting HSE committees, first aid, fire marshal activity and scenario‑based exercises • Being a visible, proactive presence across the business — not hidden behind a desk This is a role where you’ll be trusted to get on with it, take responsibility, and make things happen. What they’re looking for • 5 years in an HSE advisory role (manufacturing essential) • NEBOSH General Certificate IOSH • Someone who thrives on the shop floor, not behind a screen • A doer — not just an identifier • A practical, solutions‑focused mindset • Someone who can influence from the boardroom to the bakery floor If you’re persistent, proactive, and enjoy simplifying things rather than over‑engineering them, you’ll fit in well. The process • Stage 1: Teams call with the Head of HSE • Stage 2: On‑site meeting shop‑floor walkaround with the team • Stage 3: (Occasionally) a final follow‑up with senior leadership No tests, no assessments — just real conversations and scenario‑based questions. Interested? If you want a role where you can genuinely make an impact, be visible, and grow with a business that’s scaling fast, drop me a message. I’m happy to talk you through the structure, the culture, and what success looks like in this role
