Total Compensation ranges from $24 to $28 per hour, including travel and applicable premiums.
Job Description
Personal Support Workers play a pivotal role in our healthcare system. At Spectrum Health Care, they work closely with patients and their families, providing personal care and support with activities of daily living. The care provided by Personal Support Workers ensures patients can recover safely from an illness or remain in their homes as they age.
* Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, skincare, light meal preparation, feeding, etc.) in clients' homes or facilities.
* Assess, anticipate, identify, and respond to the changing needs of patients, and communicate available Total Care resources when appropriate.
* Perform delegated and/or assigned tasks under the supervision of a Home Support Supervisor.
* Travel within the assigned region between patients' residences or facilities is required.
Qualifications
* Have one of the following qualifications (required):
o Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or an approved program by the Ministry of Education.
o RN/RPN student who has successfully completed at least the first year of the program.
o Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife, or Physician.
* G2/G license with access to a vehicle.
* Physical ability to meet job demands (e.g., ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, reach, lift 23 kg independently, assist clients with standing, walking, sitting, and repositioning in bed).
* Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
* Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification.
* Updated immunization record, including a TB test within the last 6 months.
* Proficient in verbal and written English communication; additional languages are an asset.
