Production Manager
Package: £50,000-£55,000 basic pa + 25 days holiday + Bank holidays + Pension scheme 11% + Life Assurance 4 x Salary + Group Dependant Plan 45% of salary + Permanent health insurance (critical illness) paid 50% of monthly salary!
Hours: Days role - 40hrs p/wk Mon-Fri (free parking on site)
Chemical Plant – ATEX Environment – Blending / Batch Process

The production manager reports to the Plant manager and has responsibility for:
Man-management of 20+ direct reports (Supervisors, Production operative) on a 24-5 production operation
Ensuring Health & safety requirements in all manufacturing and warehouse areas in the plant comply with UK Legislation and company EHS requirements
Manage the production of chemical products within the 5 areas of the plant with a yearly output of approximately 2800 - 3200 Tonnes
Ensure that the production is efficient, meets Customer/Sales agreed lead times & quality requirements
Support of Project Management within the plant (PSM / Equipment/ Quality / Logistics)
Ensure implementation & adherence to EHS standards in Operations area with the support of EHS manager
Develop & maintain a high standard safety working culture.
Ensure the production of products based on Safety, Quality standards & the Service Levels agreed
Plan the manpower resources to ensure the required production output (including external temporary labour)
Lead and develop production staff
Ensure high availability of the production equipment jointly with the repair and maintenance department.
Measure and monitor performance at plant level and report KPI at both plant and operational management levels
Identify and continuously optimize and improve the production standards and processes on the site
Preparation of project proposals and capital expenditure requests where applicable
Stand in for Plant Manager when not on site or absent
Chemical engineering/Chemistry degree or comparable (engineer or equivalent)
5 years practical work experience in related industry manufacturing position
5 years practical work experience in managing employees
Good technical understanding & practice of operation performance KPI deployment & monitoring processes
High level of computer skills on standard software (MS-Office etc.)
Experienced user of ERP software (i.e. PRISM/SAP)
