Overview
We are seeking a QA-level Technologist to play a key role in supporting and enhancing our traceability systems within the factory for a period of 3 months. The ideal candidate will help identify and implement improvements to current processes, ensuring robust traceability from raw materials to finished goods.
Flexibility is essential, as the role requires working across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
A full driving licence is required due to shift patterns and site accessibility.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Ensure all products meet customer standards for quality, safety, legality, and traceability.
* Support traceability by maintaining accurate records and ensuring all materials and products are correctly tracked throughout the production process.
* Collate product samples for routine microbiological testing and organise retained samples.
* Assist in site visits and audits, with a focus on traceability compliance.
* Maintain a technical presence on the factory floor, offering support and guidance to production teams.
* Champion traceability standards and drive improvements through coaching and knowledge sharing.
* Ensure the factory is audit-ready 365 days a year, with traceability systems fully operational.
* Attend daily management meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Tasks
* Conduct calibration checks on measuring equipment.
* Ensure production paperwork is available and completed accurately each day.
* Perform environmental swabbing and water sampling to schedule.
* Manage product sample retention and coordinate laboratory testing.
* Verify and file production paperwork to ensure traceability and compliance.
* Raise reject notes for non-conforming products and raw materials.
* Book in and sample raw materials requiring QA sign-off.
* Investigate complaints, identify root causes, and implement preventative actions.
* Conduct CCP audits and training as scheduled.
* Support taste panel sample collection and EOL evaluations.
* Carry out hygiene and GMP audits, ensuring non-conformances are addressed.
* Perform daily black bag audits to identify and remove potential foreign bodies.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant Food Science qualification or degree.
* Experience in the food industry or a similar QA role is desirable.
* Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Ability to take and upload photos for use in reports.
Remote work is not available for this role.
