Robert Half working in an exclusive partnership with a values-led organisation in Cirencester to recruit an Assistant Accountant role on a full-time permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity that will be responsible for the day-to-day transactional accounting activities, whilst supporting with preparation of month-end accounts up to trial balance stage. The Assistant Accountant position is an exceptional opportunity for someone that is studying towards ACCA or CIMA, or someone that is AAT qualified or qualified by experience that is keen to add value and be a part of a company that is known for offering a great culture. The salary is between £35,000 - £40,000 plus excellent benefits and will be an office based role.
The Role
The main duties of the Assistant Accountant role will consist of:
* Preparing month-end accounts; accruals, prepayments, journals, bank reconciliations, preparing to trial balance.
* Preparing financial reports for the management team.
* Supporting with the accounts payable process; reconciling supplier statements, processing payments and invoices.
* Supporting with accounts receivable tasks; raising invoices, following up with outstanding payments.
* Preparing VAT returns for submission.
* Dealing with queries.
Requirements
To be considered for the Assistant Accountant role, you must possess the following skills/experience:
* Must have experience within a similar role and confident supporting with month-end preparation; i.e accruals, prepayments, journals.
* ACCA or CIMA studier, AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
* Strong communication skills.
* Highly organised.
* Good attention to detail.
* Adaptable.
* Good team player.
* Competent user of Excel.
