If so, we would love to hear from you Scratch the surface with a placement (Full-year internship or a Summer Placement for 8 weeks) where you will join our design specialists in Active Travel England (ATE). Our placements are designed to give you an insight into working within government on delivering its mission to make walking, wheeling and cycling an attractive choice for everyday trips. Our Inspectorate is focused on increasing the capability of local authorities through the provision of support, training and technical expertise. We inspect final schemes, but our focus is on early intervention to ensure quality is designed into schemes. Person specification We are looking for someone who is/has: Studying for a degree in an engineering related discipline (in your final 2 years at university). Additional Information A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance. Please note at interview stage that we will ask for your preference of placement (Full-year internship or a Summer Placement for 8 weeks) and, if successful at this stage, you will be either offered a position (based on availability) or held on a reserve list. Please note that appointments will be made in merit order but that we will also be taking into account your choice of placement(s). If you are offered and decline a post for a role which is in line with your placement preference then your application will be withdrawn.
