Job Title: Head of Financial Reporting
My client, one of the leading suppliers of social housing, care homes, and student accommodation in the UK, is looking for a Head of Financial Reporting for their offices in Worcester.
The role is within Group Financial Services, responsible for all aspects of accounting for the Group, including financial and management accounting, financial analysis, budget preparation, treasury, tax, and VAT management.
The job holder will ensure full understanding and fulfillment of responsibilities related to health & safety and equality & diversity at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage an effective financial accounting, guidance, and support service to improve financial performance, implementing controls to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
2. Lead the centralised Financial Reporting team to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services, including preparing accurate management and statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with regulations.
3. Ensure Senior Business Managers actively manage financial performance to minimize risk and enhance operational efficiency.
4. Provide guidance, advice, and support on financial management to ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and best practices.
5. Review, implement, and maintain financial control systems and policies for compliance and performance.
6. Report and present financial information to Group Executive, Directors, and stakeholders to support decision-making and business planning.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and investors to ensure compliance and attract capital and credit ratings.
8. Manage recruitment, performance, and development of staff to meet performance indicators and strategic goals.
9. Contribute to special projects and change programmes supporting the Group's objectives.
Qualifications:
ACCA, ACA, or CIMA professional qualification required.
