Retail Volunteering Development & Strategy Lead
Location: Blackpool - location TBC
Salary £28,000
At Trinity Hospice & Brian House, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do – and nowhere is this more visible than in our retail shops, which play a vital role in generating income to support patient care.
We’re looking for a Retail Volunteering Development and Strategy Lead to help shape the future of volunteering across our retail network.
This is a new and exciting role, focused on developing the strategy, tools and approaches that will enable our shop teams to attract, engage and retain volunteers in a sustainable and flexible way.
About the role
* Develop and deliver a retail volunteering strategy aligned to our organisational goals
* Use data and insight to identify opportunities to grow and strengthen our volunteer base
* Create practical frameworks, toolkits and resources to support shop managers in attracting and retaining volunteers
* Lead initiatives to improve volunteer engagement and experience across our retail teams
* Support new shop openings and developments with tailored volunteer approaches
* Build relationships with local partners, including community organisations and colleges
This role is about influence, innovation and enabling others — not direct recruitment management — helping to embed consistent, high-quality volunteer practices across our retail function.
About you
* Has experience of working with or developing volunteer programmes
* Enjoys using data and insight to drive improvement
* Can create practical tools and guidance that others can easily use
* Is confident building relationships and influencing across teams
Experience in charity retail would be a bonus, but just as important is your ability to think strategically while keeping solutions practical and grounded.
Benefits
* A rewarding role where every sale supports local hospice care
* 38 days annual leave (pro rata), including Bank Holidays
* Access to health and wellbeing support
* Enhanced maternity/paternity benefits
* Pension Scheme
* A chance to be part of a caring, community-focused organisation
