Position Summary
As a Platform Engineer you will design, implement, and maintain robust platforms that support GSK’s mission to improve lives.
Responsibilities
* Develop a thorough understanding of process equipment and plant areas.
* Deliver engineering activities (maintenance, improvement and projects) in collaboration with Planning, Capital Projects and Business Unit teams, leading technicians or contractors when required.
* Develop and deliver Continuous Improvement (CI) for safety, quality and waste cost in the SBU.
* Ensure root cause and problem solving are conducted, implementing corrective and preventive actions, including deviation and PMDE investigations.
* Provide clear leadership and development to front‑line staff, sharing knowledge to upskill engineers and production operations staff.
* Lead Machinery Safety, Process Safety and Data Integrity (DI) audit activities in SBU engineering.
Basic Qualifications
* HNC in Engineering or a related field.
* Demonstrable engineering competence with deep technical understanding of key processes and equipment such as sterilisers, aseptic filling technology and manufacturing equipment.
* Significant experience working in cGMP or other highly regulated operational engineering or project delivery teams.
* Ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems using tools such as DMAIC.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Hold an HND or degree in an engineering discipline (or working towards).
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
* Passion for learning and staying updated on emerging technologies.
Work Arrangement
This role is based in the United Kingdom at Barnard Castle.
