Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are upheld. Duties

* Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes.
* Support chefs and kitchen staff in cooking and serving meals during busy service periods.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations by following proper hygiene practices and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
* Help with inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting any shortages to the head chef.
* Participate in catering events as required, assisting with setup, service, and cleanup.

Requirements

* Previous kitchen experience or culinary experience is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is crucial.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is highly desirable.
* Experience in meal preparation or food preparation within a catering or restaurant setting is an advantage.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards learning from others.
