Finance Director (Confidential Appointment – FinTech Sector)
Location: Grantham (Hybrid – min. 3 days per week on site)
Salary: £100,000+ (negotiable, DOE)

The Opportunity
Cherry Professional are proud to be exclusively retained on this confidential appointment, partnering with a well-established and fast-evolving FinTech group as they seek to appoint a strategic and hands-on Finance Director at a pivotal stage in their growth journey. With multiple trading entities and a growing presence in digital lending and debt recovery, this role sits at the heart of the business — shaping financial strategy, enhancing operational control, and supporting future scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the group’s financial strategy, planning, and control across multiple legal entities
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, providing commercial insight and challenge
Oversee group reporting, consolidation, audit, and statutory compliance (UK and international)
Maintain strong cashflow forecasting and oversight across the group
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5, including a longstanding Financial Controller
Execute a programme of intercompany loan clean-up and legal entity rationalisation
Maintain and grow relationships with banks, lenders, and private investors
Ensure effective financial governance, controls, and adherence to regulatory frameworks (including FCA)
Support strategic initiatives including product innovation, investment, and growth planning
Drive continuous improvement in finance systems and processes to support scaleWhat We’re Looking For
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Experience as Finance Director or CFO in a FinTech, digital lending, or regulated financial services business (desirable)
Strong technical knowledge of group finance, reporting, and cash management
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Clear communicator, confident engaging across board, investor, and operational levels
Experience working within or alongside FCA-regulated activity (or another highly regulated industry)
Commercial and forward-thinking, with a sharp eye for risk and opportunityWorking Model
Hybrid working – typically 3+ days per week based on-site in Grantham
