We're working closely with an established global law firm, for the recruitment of an Early Careers Assistant (Graduate Recruitment & Development) to join their established Early Careers team.
The role comes about as a result of an internal promotion, showcasing the firms desire to develop their staff.
We’re looking for someone with some HR experience, who is bright, proactive and genuinely motivated to build a career in Early Careers. You’ll be naturally switched‑on, organised and eager to take ownership of a varied workload. Some previous HR experience is needed, but your background doesn’t need to be from the legal sector. A passion for D&I and social mobility is also desired, as you’ll play an active role in these initiatives.
Salary - up to £35k
Hybrid working - 3 days in office per week, with some flex.
Duties include:
* Be the first point of contact for future trainees and applicants, ensuring smooth communication and timely support throughout the recruitment journey.
* Coordinate early careers activities such as insight days, university events, and workshops, representing the firm with professionalism and enthusiasm.
* Keep recruitment systems and candidate records organised, accurate, and up to date, helping the team track progress and spot trends.
* Support application and assessment processes, from scheduling and logistics to candidate communications, helping deliver an efficient and positive experience.
* Contribute to social mobility programmes and early‑career initiatives, playing an active role in widening access and supporting community‑focused projects.
* Help future trainees and apprentices settle in by organising pre‑start activities, onboarding tasks, and providing ongoing HR support.
* Maintain high‑quality HR documentation, assist with updates to policies, and support wider HR projects that drive continuous improvement.
* Build relationships across the firm and with external partners, expanding knowledge of best practice and contributing fresh ideas to enhance early‑careers strategy.
