Core Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Technician III to join our team with Saybolt. This is an opportunity to join a leader of innovation with strong prospects for skills development and career growth. About Saybolt: Saybolt is an independent cargo survey company active in commodity markets worldwide, focusing on crude oil, petroleum products, and petrochemicals inspection and testing. Saybolt provides laboratory analysis, field inspections, and monitoring services to the energy industry, committed to delivering fast, accurate, and professional services to major oil companies, chemical industries, trading houses, and insurers.
JOB PURPOSE: To perform laboratory tests on mineral oil and petrochemical fluids according to predefined procedures, train less experienced staff, and document test results following protocols.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Laboratory Safety and Compliance: Conduct activities in accordance with safety manuals and policies, and complete required safety training.
* Technical Proficiency: Understand and apply standards such as ASTM, UOP, IP, GOST; operate and maintain laboratory equipment; ensure cleanliness and safety.
* Laboratory Testing: Perform tests on mineral oils and petrochemicals, prepare solutions, determine characteristics per client/internal standards.
* Documentation and Reporting: Record results accurately and adhere to protocols.
* Training and Mentorship: Train junior staff to ensure standards are met.
* Flexibility: May require irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
EDUCATION:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 6-12 months of related experience.
* Ability to perform advanced math calculations.
* Valid driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
ATTRIBUTES:
* Good communication skills.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moderate work, with accommodations available for disabilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Onshore, predominantly indoor, with limited exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Work surfaces are stable, and work may involve irregular hours.
