Overview
Job Role: Care Worker / Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant. The role involves helping and assisting the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding. Care Workers / Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers work under the supervision of Nursing staff, across hospital wards, patients\' homes, and clinics. This position is suitable for someone who wants to care for people and make a positive difference in their lives. A friendly and caring attitude, along with respect for people who need healthcare support, is important. Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are not essential to apply, but are preferable.
Responsibilities
* Help patients wash, shower or dress
* Serve food or assist people to eat
* Make and change beds
* Turn patients who are confined to bed to prevent pressure sores
* Talk to patients to help them feel less anxious
* Assist patients to move around if they find it difficult
* Distribute and collect bedpans, and help patients to the toilet
* Keep the ward or patients\' homes tidy
* Keep supplies and equipment in order
* Use mobility aids and equipment to assist with lifting and moving patients
* Escort patients between departments in hospital as needed
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous care experience and/or qualifications are not essential to apply, but preferable
* Ability to work under the supervision of Nursing staff and collaborate with other Healthcare Assistants
