Role Overview
As a Business Development Officer you will support the Centre Manager by driving learner starts and enrolling them into their chosen programmes. The role balances commercial activity and administrative tasks on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop links with key external stakeholders (employers, schools, local authorities, community centres and JCPs) to generate enrolments.
* Maintain excellent relationships internally and externally to identify training and employment opportunities.
* Carry out stakeholder recruitment activities including advertising, pre‑screening and interviewing.
* Update the centralised vacancy database and liaise on the enrolment process.
* Organise and manage open days and employer surveys.
* Enrol new learners and manage current vacancies on the CRM.
* Support communication to students and external contacts, including termly communications and follow‑up calls.
* Interview applicants, complete eligibility checks and ESFA documentation.
* Act as the main point of contact for learners, providing ongoing support and impartial IAG.
* Provide additional support during the first six weeks of learner programmes.
* Support learners at programme exit and provide guidance on progression.
* Record starts and pipeline figures in weekly performance reports.
* Report weekly outcomes and monthly activities against KPIs.
* Drive performance against budget and targets.
Administration and Generic Tasks
* Process and file PLRs and eligibility documentation.
* Coordinate with administration for accurate employer apprenticeship documentation.
* Update employer database and file H&S and ONAs.
* Manage signature and EPA documentation, health and safety checks, and PICs.
* Prepare ad‑hoc and regular reports.
* Maintain Employer Engagement CRM database.
* Collaborate with Training Instructors and Tutors.
* Serve as the first point of contact for inbound/outbound calls.
* General administration duties including diary management and post handling.
* Provide advice and support to learners, customers, and colleagues.
* Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, IT, data protection and diversity policies.
* Promote equal opportunities and uphold confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential Criteria
* Experience in a sales role.
* Customer service skills.
* Military knowledge or interest (beneficial).
