Are you interested in launching the next generation of Amazon Sort Centers (SCs) in Europe? Do you want to be part of Amazon’s growth and expansion? Do you have expertise in SC Yard design? The Global Engineering Services Team offers comprehensive training and support to help you succeed. We are seeking an experienced Amazon Yard Operator or Yard Program Manager to support the expansion of Sort Centers across Europe. This role involves end-to-end delivery of new SC launches and optimization of existing facilities to meet network capacity and performance benchmarks.
This position requires a knowledgeable, confident individual who is professional and socially adept to build credibility with stakeholders at various levels. The role involves up to 50% travel across EMEA, working in multiple countries including Germany (Berlin), UK (London), Italy (Milan), Spain (Madrid or Barcelona), and France (Paris).
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver results in ambiguous environments concerning SC Yard operations.
2. Support Yard simulations to determine infrastructure requirements.
3. Motivate and lead project teams with strong interpersonal skills.
4. Build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
5. Make decisions under pressure and seek opportunities for process improvements.
6. Manage and report on project metrics, leading high-profile meetings.
7. Learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
8. Possess operational skills related to Fulfillment and/or Sort Centers, especially Yard and TOM.
Daily Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize building designs, processes, and safety standards, ensuring operational excellence and cost-effective solutions for SC yards.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field with proven experience.
* Experience with automated material handling, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing systems.
* Knowledge of process design based on Lean principles.
* Experience managing capital projects.
* Understanding of system architecture, analysis, and decision-making tools.
* Experience managing engineering design projects.
* Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Engineering or related field, with 2-5 years of experience.
* Languages such as French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu are a plus.
