We have a great opportunity for a Head of Procurement to lead the management of a commercially astute and efficient procurement function.
Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer, you will be the subject matter expert on procurement and supplier management matters across our business, providing strategic leadership on the design and implementation of the Procurement Strategy and plan. You will lead the category management approach and have responsibility for sourcing activity and for procurement management with a clear focus on achieving cost reduction and relevant ESG outcomes.
You will provide strategic leadership to the Procurement Team and wider business, ensuring that the standards for procurement activity are maintained in line with the expectations of corporate governance and policy while developing strong internal relationships, securing appropriate sponsorship and instilling confidence in the procurement function across senior leaders and stakeholders.
You will continue to develop the procurement function, ensuring that UPP reduce, minimise and/or avoid costs across the major categories of spend, producing effective and tangible results whilst sourcing responsibly. Demonstrating an ability to optimise the use of digitised solutions to drive business process efficiency and aid decision makers through provision of effective analytics.
In addition, you will support the new client acquisition process through the provision of clear, robust and pragmatic tender processes which contribute to securing competitive advantage and enhance the success rate of our business.
This is a hybrid role based in our award-winning offices near London Bridge, Cannon Street and Monument stations. We are able to consider flexible working arrangements for this role.
We are looking for extensive and proven experience at senior management level within FM, real estate or infrastructure environment in the UK, along with:
* Experience of managing procurement spend of >£50m per annum
* Experience of initiating and concluding multiple procurement outcomes, negotiating with supplier representatives working for different sized businesses from relatively small to large nationals
* Demonstrable track record of delivering cost opportunities against savings targets and leading procurement teams within multi-stakeholder or matrix-style environments
* Proven ability as an SME, making an immediate impact in transforming a procurement function, utilising digital solutions and producing tangible results
* Strong process, governance and procurement procedure experience and advanced understanding of UK procurement rules
* Effective people manager focused on team and personal development
* Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and the impact of procurement activities on ESG outcomes would be advantageous
You will have personal gravitas with strong commercial acumen, able to design and articulate processes, procedures and strategies to a diverse audience effectively.
Strong numeracy skills and analytical thinking are naturally important along with being adept in applying data and metrics in decision-making and influencing.
You will be results and delivery focused, innovative and forward thinking with compelling communication skills and the ability to manage business challenges in a balanced and professional manner.
Overall, you will have a strong drive for excellence, leading by example and influencing through coaching and recognition.
