Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Provide safe, effective, and high-quality clinical care under consultant supervision.
* Manage inpatients, outpatients, and emergency referrals within the specialty.
* Participate in on-call rotas as required.
* Undertake ward rounds, admissions, discharges, and patient reviews.
* Perform and interpret relevant clinical investigations.
* Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
* Contribute to clinical governance, audit, teaching, and service development.
* Ensure compliance with NHS Trust policies, GMC guidance, and safeguarding responsibilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Essential:
* Primary Medical Qualification (e.g., MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent).
* Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
* At least 4 years post-graduation experience, with minimum 2 years in the relevant specialty.
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
* Competence in basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) (depending on specialty).
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
Desirable:
* Membership of relevant Royal College (e.g., MRCP, MRCS, MRCPsych, MRCOG, FRCA).
* Previous NHS experience at Specialty Doctor, Registrar, or equivalent level.
* Experience in audit, teaching, and quality improvement.
* Additional specialty certifications (ATLS, APLS, PALS, NLS depending on specialty).
* Evidence of leadership and service development contribution.
Compliance Requirements (Agency Locum):
* Valid Right to Work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS clearance.
* Occupational Health clearance (immunisation history including Hep B, TB, MMR, Varicella, COVID-19).
* Up-to-date mandatory training (Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Safeguarding, Infection Control, Equality & Diversity, Information Governance).
* References covering the last 3 years of employment.
Working Pattern:
* Full-time / part-time depending on rota.
* Shift patterns may include days, nights, weekends, and on-calls.
Salary & Rates:
* As per NHS Specialty Doctor pay scales (or agency-agreed locum rates, depending on contract and IR35 status).

Pay: £60.00-£85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
