Senior Service Engineer
We require an experienced and qualified Senior Service Engineer to join our team in Wellingborough. Working alongside the Location Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading the engineering team and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy workshop to maintain our fleet and meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assist the Location Service Manager in the daily operations of the workshop.
2. Ensure 100% coverage for servicing and maintaining our modern hire fleet.
3. Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine at the depot or on-site as required.
4. Produce monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules; organize engineers' workload to ensure timely completion of all tasks in accordance with company policies.
5. Maintain the fleet's appearance to corporate standards.
6. Provide guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls.
7. Locate spare parts, ensuring CE rating compliance where applicable.
8. Follow the guidelines outlined in the Quality and Health & Safety policies.
9. Maintain a basic stock control system for workshop spares.
10. Identify training and development needs of workshop personnel.
11. Support depot engineers with technical assistance and advice.
About you:
1. Supervisory experience in a busy workshop, with the ability to lead engineers/technicians to high standards.
2. Previous experience in the Powered Access industry or related construction plant hire.
3. Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a maintenance/engineering discipline.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
5. Experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is desirable.
6. Good interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of excellent customer service.
