The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Production & Warehouse Manager to increase productivity, improve systems and maintain high standards across our hardwood timber yard in Essex.
This is a practical leadership role in a small, ambitious company. You'll work closely with the owners, bringing your experience to strengthen production procedures, develop structure and drive consistent, high-quality output.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone working 4-5 days per week, who will:
* Manage our log yard, milling operations and air-dry seasoning processes
* Organise warehouse layout, stock flow and board storage
* Maintain accurate board records and labelling system
* Measure, grade and price boards for sale
* Operate forklift and machinery, supporting milling and timber preparation
* Lead on health & safety compliance
* Build strong relationships with existing and new customers
* Work closely with our Camden furniture workshop team
* Lead and support a junior team member
We are looking for someone to start mid-March.
About you
* Have experience in production, warehouse, timber or similar operations
* Are confident using computers for stock control and record management
* Are physically fit and comfortable working in a warehouse and outdoors year-round
* Can communicate clearly and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing
* Are self motivated and enjoy working in a small team
* Hold a forklift licence and ideally chainsaw experience (desirable)
* Are competent using hand and machine tools
* Have great attention to detail, and insist on keeping your work environment safe, clean and tidy
* Have your own transport and live within reasonable travelling distance
Experience with hardwood would be valuable, but strong operational discipline and practical leadership matter more.

Pay: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
