Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Skelmersdale Competitive Salary + Benefits
Scope: Our client is a globally recognised leader in innovation and manufacturing. To support its operations, they are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its manufacturing plant in Skelmersdale. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will contribute to the reliability and performance of production equipment and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enhance plant reliability and optimise production equipment performance.
2. Track and report process improvement results.
3. Ensure production targets are met by maximising efficiency and minimising defects.
4. Provide hands-on production line support in line with company goals.
5. Carry out preventive maintenance and equipment breakdown repairs.
6. Monitor and control processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
7. Analyse data to diagnose faults and develop improvement plans.
8. Maintain high standards for cost, quality, and production schedules.
9. Promote and prioritise health and safety awareness.
10. Train and mentor staff in a constructive and approachable manner.
11. Develop strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
12. Gather and share best practices internally and externally.
About You:
1. Apprentice training or qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience in mechanical, pneumatic fault finding.
3. Knowledge of high-pressure air systems (advantageous).
4. Ability to read technical drawings and follow SOPs.
Working Hours:
* Monday - Thursday: 7:50 am - 4:45 pm
* Friday: 7:50 am - 12:10 pm
