We are looking to recruit a health care assistant with experience in wound care, vaccinations and phlebotomy.
The ideal candidate should have previous nhs experience preferably with the use of the clinical system, Systm one.
The position is to join our multidisciplinary nursing team consisting of HCA's, nurses, paramedics and nurse practitioners across our main site at Bedford Street Surgery & our Branch site on Furzton.
Main duties of the job
Core Responsibilities for the position of HCA include:
* Wound care ( Ulcer / Doppler )
* Vaccinations under a PSD
* Health Checks
* ECG's
* Identify, manage and support patients at risk of developing long term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the patients health.
* Routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE, and the NSF
* Infection control
* Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
* Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Bedford Street Surgery is located in Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2, with a branch site, Furzton Medical Centre, located in Furzton MK4.

The practice operate as a multidisciplinary team consisting of 7 GP's, practice nurses, HCA's, Nurse practitioners, paramedics and a pharmacist. Supporting the MDT team are secretaries, care navigators, care coordinators and a finance team all overseen by the practice manager.
Our team work hard to ensure clear communication and have monthly mdt and nursing meetings to discuss patient care, shared learning and training.
Job responsibilities
HCA job role includes phlebotomy, wound care vaccinations, health check and ECGS. A full spec of the job is attached.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* We are seeking an individual with NHS experience preferably having already obtained their care certificate.
* Certification of having undertaken training on phlebotomy and wound care is essential.
* Other qualifications will be considered
* Training on Spirometry, INR Star, Health Checks
Experience
* Experience of working in the NHS / Gp Practice
* Experience of the core areas of HCA work
* Experience of the clinical system S1
* Experience of health checks, spirometry and IRN Star
* Experience in supporting the infection control lead
