As an enthusiastic and safety-conscious Yard Operative, youll be the first point of contact for customers arriving in the yard, ensuring they receive a warm welcome, efficient service, and the products they need to get the job done. Youll help keep the yard safe, organised, and well-stocked while supporting the wider branch team in delivering excellent customer service. As a Yard Operative, youll play a vital role in making sure customers have a great experience every time they visit. Youll be part of a supportive, values-led business with a clear purpose of Building our future, through helping others build theirs. Branch opening hours are Mon - Thurs 07.30 - 17.00 Fri 07.30 - 16.00 Sat 08.00 - 12.00 and we are flexible to consider a variety of working hours/patterns to suit your needs! This role is for Saturday hours 8am to 12 noon shift - Additional hours will be available throughout the week. WHAT WILL I BE DOING? Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and assist with product enquiries. Safely load/unload vehicles and assemble customer orders for collection or delivery. Operate forklifts and handling equipment in line with safety procedures. Manage stock efficiently through ordering, replenishment, and participation in stock counts. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment. Work collaboratively with the branch team to achieve sales, margin, and service targets. Complete health & safety checks and mandatory training to company standards. Positively represent the company and contribute to our values of Decency, Passion, and Pride. WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU? Experience in a similar role or trade environment is an advantage. Forklift licence (or willingness to train). Strong awareness and adherence of health & safety practices. Good communication skills with a positive, customer-first attitude. A team player who takes pride in their work and branch success.
