Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly by handling cleaning duties, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the overall hospitality experience. Duties
* Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
* Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients under supervision.
* Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment.
* Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, storage areas, and communal spaces within the kitchen.
* Ensuring waste disposal is handled efficiently and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
* Assisting with setting up dining areas before service and clearing after service concludes.
* Adhering to all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills
* Prior experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is advantageous.
* Knowledge of kitchen safety standards and hygiene practices.
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
* Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail.
* Flexibility to adapt to busy service periods and varied duties.
* Basic cooking skills or culinary experience are desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills within a hospitality setting.
