This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Organisational Development Partner to join our Organisational Development Workforce Training and Wellbeing Team
A sound organisational development practitioner, you will ideally also have some experience of working in HR and be able to effectively translate strategy, policy and process into powerful and engaging interventions. A highly effective communicator, you will be able to influence and manage groups in a supportive and confident manner, dealing positively and effectively with challenge. You will also be confident in supporting managers and teams to identify, understand and address areas of development aligned to our values and behaviours.

About The Role
You'll be part of our well‑established Organisational Development Workforce Training and Wellbeing Team, working with colleagues to identify, design and deliver learning across a wide range of areas — from personal development topics such as coaching skills through to leadership and management.
This role will also support the delivery of the Our Future Cumberland programme and helping our workforce navigate change with confidence and clarity.
You'll design and deliver engaging development sessions, both online and in person, working with teams across the Council to ensure learning is high quality, relevant and aligned to our workforce ambitions.
What You'll Be Doing
Consulting with directorates and services regarding their organisational development needs
Translating development needs into directorate, service and/or corporate interventions
Designing and delivering engaging organisational development and learning sessions
Supporting organisational change through high-quality facilitation, engaging groups confidently, online and face-to-face
Building strong, trusted working relationships at all levels across the organisation
Working to support and improve working relationships and team dynamics during periods of change
Providing solution focused outcomes supporting senior managers in cultural shift
Using a range of delivery methods, including digital tools
Mediation techniques are desirable
You'll be based in Carlisle or Workington, with some travel to council sites across Cumbria.
About You

Is experienced in translating, planning, delivering and evaluating learning and development programmes
Brings strong facilitation skills and can confidently engage diverse audiences
Understands organisational development principles and change management
Can adapt your style and methods to different settings and learners
Communicates clearly and works collaboratively with others
