About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome challenges?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor to join a well-supported school in Monmouthshire, offering a collaborative environment and strong pastoral support network.
As a Behaviour Mentor you will work closely with pupils who have Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. Your role will involve providing 1:1 and small group interventions, supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, and helping them develop positive coping strategies.
This is a dynamic, hands-on position where no two days are the same. You’ll need resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to create a safe and supportive learning environment where pupils can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver consistent 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs.
* Implement behaviour management strategies and effective de-escalation techniques.
* Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and sensory needs where required.
* Encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional development.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEN team to promote inclusion.

* A calm, patient, and resilient attitude.
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviours (desirable).
* Ability to adapt to changing situations and maintain a positive approach.
* Strong communication skills and commitment to safeguarding.

Requirements (or willingness to obtain at your own cost)
To demonstrate your commitment to working in education, you must either hold or be prepared to apply for the following:
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* Aged 18 or over
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
* Level 2 Safeguarding training
* At least two professional references covering the past two years
