About the College

About the Candidate

Applicants should have experience of employer engagement and relevant industrial experience to assist in developing, monitoring, and operating work placements.

About the Role
The role involves:

* Arranging appropriate placements for learners studying Level 2 and T Level programmes in line with awarding body stipulations.
* Carrying out placement visits and assessments, particularly regarding competency as required by the awarding organization.
* Liaising with students, staff, and placement supervisors to organize assessment visits.
* Scheduling meetings both in college and at placements to address placement issues.
* Communicating effectively with placements, parents, and the wider team to support student achievement.
Applicants should demonstrate, in their personal statement, practical examples of how they meet the person specification.

Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities include:
* Working closely with industry partners to source high-quality work placements, ensuring health and safety risk assessments, public liability insurance, and compliance with college requirements.
* Outlining placement requirements to students, staff, and supervisors, and arranging observational visits.
* Conducting assessments on students during placements and completing required documentation for external quality assurance. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are required, as the role involves placement visits.
* Providing some face-to-face delivery in class to develop sector skills and knowledge.
* Collaborating with curriculum managers, personal development tutors, and students to match career pathways, timetables, and placement opportunities based on geographic considerations.
* Maintaining and developing employer relationships and supporting curriculum activities through employer events.
Qualifications
Appropriate vocational or specialist qualifications, assessor and verifier qualifications (or willingness to work towards), and Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.

Essential Skills & Experience
Occupational competence with industrial experience within the last 12 months, recent assessment experience in placements, and a proven track record of working effectively with learners and employers. Good understanding of student work placements, communication skills, ICT proficiency, teamworking, time management, and a driving license with vehicle access are essential. The candidate must be suitable to work with children and vulnerable adults and committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare, British Values, and equality and diversity. Knowledge of health and safety policies is required.
