Job Title: Forensic Claims Planner Location: Reading, Berkshire Hybrid (initially site-based) Sector: Regulated Construction Security Clearance: SC Clearance desirable (not essential)
Job Summary We are recruiting a Forensic Claims Planner to support the commercial and planning functions on a complex construction project within a highly regulated sector. This position will initially be based on site for project familiarisation, transitioning into a hybrid working arrangement thereafter.
Key Responsibilities Support the Commercial Team and Claims Planning Manager in reviewing contractor delay claims and compensation events.
Conduct independent analysis of programme impacts, float erosion, and mitigation opportunities.
Work directly with supply chain partners to standardise claims processes and ensure consistency.
Interface with Project and Commercial Teams throughout claim reviews, discussions, and negotiations.
Use Primavera P6 to interrogate project programmes and validate critical path impacts.
Apply construction knowledge to assess accuracy and validity of delay justifications.
Attend site and remote meetings as required.
Essential Criteria Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a planning role, including at least 2 years in claims or delay analysis.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 within an Enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of planning principles and critical path methodology.
Familiarity with NEC3 and NEC4 contract clauses, particularly regarding time and compensation events.
Previous experience on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors.
Desirable Criteria Experience in the nuclear or similarly regulated sector.
Background in mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (M&E) projects.
Relevant qualification in engineering, construction management, or project controls.
Claims management training or professional body membership (e.g., CIArb, ACostE, APM).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
