In a nutshell Bringing your enthusiasm and passion for aviation to this role within the team, you will maintain and optimise data in our Flight Planning, Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) and aircraft flight management systems. This role calls for you to maintain high standards, often under tight deadlines, with the flexibility to adapt to changing needs. But rest assured, the rewards are as diverse as the challenges. You'll have the chance to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across Virgin Atlantic, including Airports, Government Affairs, Finance, Network and Alliances, Safety, and Engineering. Day to day Using your focus and attention to detail, you will evaluate the impact to our operations of any data or airspace changes, providing strategic and tactical support to our 24/7 Operational Control Centre team, together with navigation and Air Traffic Management (ATM) expertise to the rest of Virgin Atlantic. You will also be responsible for the following: Continually review navigation data and airspace changes through monitoring of published information and engagement with air navigation service providers. Using this data, accurately maintain Flight Planning, NOTAM and FMS databases, navigation charts and related company procedure, deciding on the most cost-effective city pair routing solutions. Design and maintain required navigational chart content and specifications. Manage applications for seasonal and ad-hoc operating permits and approvals for the scheduled and ad-hoc flying programme. Conduct block time/fuel burn analysis as required to support commercial planning. Develop good working relationships with third party suppliers and external stakeholders, to leverage the optimal outcome to Virgin Atlantic. Analyse industry developments and changes to regulatory landscape within the Navigation and Air Traffic Management (ATM) field and present reports and recommendations to the Manager - Aeronautical Services and ATM. Assist with maintenance of budgetary compliance in relation to Air Traffic Control user charges, liaising with any relevant authorities. About you We're on the lookout for a creative thinker with a passion for developing effective solutions to enhance our operational efficiency. We're also looking for the following: Proven organisational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Evidence of excellent attention to detail, along with written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of prior knowledge of flight planning, aircraft navigation systems, and related disciplines.
