We are partnering with a respected mainstream primary school in Bridport to recruit a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant. This position is based in Key Stage 2 and centres on delivering dedicated support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs. This is more than a classroom role — it’s an opportunity to help children feel understood, develop trust and grow in confidence both academically and emotionally within a nurturing and inclusive setting. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: • Deliver personalised support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs • Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lessons and support strategies to suit individual pupils • Foster a calm, structured and supportive environment that encourages emotional wellbeing and engagement • Apply effective behaviour management and de-escalation approaches to support self-regulation • Promote positive peer relationships and active participation in school life • Monitor development and celebrate progress at every stage • Assist in creating and adapting tailored learning resources • Engage in ongoing training and CPD, including trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice We are seeking someone who: • Has experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting • Demonstrates patience, empathy and resilience, with a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing • Communicates clearly and builds positive, trusting relationships • Is able to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team • Holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle (desirable due to location) • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential) Why apply? • Join a welcoming and inclusive school community • Make a genuine, lasting impact on children’s development • Strengthen your expertise in trauma-informed and attachment-led approaches • Be part of a dedicated team where your work is valued and recognised Pay: £89 – £95 per day Full-time: Monday to Friday Start date: ASAP INDDEV
