We’re looking for a skilled Quality Inspector to join a leading precision engineering team supplying high‑performance parts to the aerospace and motorsport sectors. If you enjoy working with complex components, tight tolerances, and advanced metrology equipment, this role is for you.
About the Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring CNC‑machined components meet all engineering drawings, customer specifications, and industry quality standards before release. You’ll use a wide range of precision inspection tools and support continuous improvement across the production process.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect precision CNC‑machined components to aerospace and motorsport tolerances.
* Operate and programme CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to verify complex part geometry.
* Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
* Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/FAI) to required standards.
* Use a full range of metrology tools: micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, surface finish testers, etc.
* Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
* Identify, log, and report non‑conformances; support root‑cause investigation and corrective actions.
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO9001 quality management systems.
* Assist with internal and external audits when required.
Skills & Experience Required
* Experience inspecting precision CNC‑machined components.
* Proficient in CMM operation and programming (any software considered).
* Experience completing FAIR / FAI documentation.
* Strong ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
* Excellent use of precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
* Background in aerospace, motorsport, or high‑precision engineering is highly desirable.
