We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a busy manufacturing site in the Hengoed area. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping production equipment and site facilities running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is initially offered on a temporary basis (minimum 3–4 months), with a strong likelihood of a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and site facilities
* Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control system fault-finding and repairs
* Minimising downtime and supporting production uptime
* Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability
* Assisting with equipment modifications, upgrades, and tooling changeovers
* Accurate completion of maintenance records and documentation
* Adhering to all health & safety and site standards
* General maintenance and ad-hoc engineering support as required
Skills & Experience Required:
* Experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or production environment
* Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding ability
* Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
* Experience working with pneumatic systems
* Reliable, organised, and safety-conscious
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications:
ONC / HNC / NVQ Level 3–4 in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or similar)
Desirable (not essential):
* 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification
* PLC or control systems exposure (e.g. Siemens S7 / TIA Portal)
* Experience with automated handling systems
* Workshop / fabrication experience
