Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical) Location: Kingston upon Thames Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday (Rotating Shifts) On-Call: 1 in 6 weeks Working Hours - Early Shift: 09:00 – 17:00 - Late Shift: 10:30 – 19:00 Role Overview We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer to join a facilities maintenance team supporting student accommodation sites in Kingston upon Thames. The role focuses on the delivery of high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical and building fabric elements, ensuring a safe, compliant and well-maintained living environment for residents. The successful candidate will also participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Service Delivery * Deliver reactive and planned maintenance across student accommodation sites * Undertake replacement of electrical appliances, fittings, luminaires and low-voltage outlets * Carry out minor repairs within student bedrooms and communal areas, covering building fabric, fixtures and fittings Electrical & Mechanical Duties * Complete general electrical maintenance and fault finding * Continuously monitor and maintain mechanical systems, fittings and plant rooms Compliance & Safety * Undertake monthly temperature monitoring of hot and cold-water systems * Carry out weekly flushing of water outlets in unoccupied rooms * Perform weekly fire alarm testing across the accommodation * Complete bi-annual fire door inspections (training provided), recording defects, damage and remedial actions accurately Reporting & Standards * Accurately record works completed and report defects or compliance issues * Ensure all tasks are completed in line with statutory requirements, site procedures and best practice What’s on Offer * Competitive salary * Company vehicle * 24 days annual leave plus public holidays * Life cover equivalent to 1.5x annual salary * Employee discount schemes across major retailers * Gym membership discounts * Cycle to work scheme * Holiday purchase scheme * 2 paid corporate social responsibility days per year * Access to professional qualifications, training and development programmes * Employee referral rewards scheme * Access to employee networks and inclusion groups * 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme and mental wellbeing support app Candidate Requirements Essential * Demonstrable experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role * Recognised electrical qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Full UK driving licence
