Learning & Development Specialist
Interim – 12 months FTC

Salary: Up to £34,500 + benefits (pro-rata if Part Time)

At Newbury Building Society, we support and enable our 220 employees to be their best. We are recruiting a Learning & Development Specialist to partner with the business and deliver our learning and development strategy on a 12-month fixed-term contract, on a full or part-time basis (minimum 21 hours per week).

Responsibilities:
1. Partner with the HR Manager to allocate and utilise budget effectively to enhance skills for the future.
2. Support managers in building leadership and coaching capabilities, including career development, performance management, and succession planning.
3. Follow up on the effectiveness of L&D initiatives.
4. Use data-driven decision making to improve L&D offerings and processes, optimizing budget, employee experience, and business impact.
5. Design, build, and facilitate learning interventions.
6. Enhance digital learning capabilities through strategic deployment and development of the LMS.
7. Perform general HR duties, including ER, as needed.
8. Work proactively with internal and external customers to ensure a high-quality employee experience.
9. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
10. Design, develop, and deliver L&D solutions.
11. Support performance management and appraisal processes.
12. Administer or work with a Learning Management System and digital/online learning.

This is a great opportunity to influence our Learning & Development activities over the next year. Based in Newbury with a minimum of 40% hybrid working. Salary up to £34,500.
