SEN Teaching Assistant • 1 to 1 • Full-time • Ongoing contract • Church of England Primary School • KT6 (Kingston-on-Thames) A friendly and inclusive primary school in KT6 are looking for an experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible to support a pupil with additional needs on a 1:1 basis. The roleIn this role you will be working 1:1 with a pupil with ASC who is non-verbal and presents with behaviour challenges. The pupil requires consistent adult support to access learning, follow routines and engage safely within the classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the pupil to understand and engage with learning activities using appropriate communication strategies Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation Using visual supports, sensory strategies and structured routines Assisting with social interaction and play skills Supporting during some breaktimes and transitionsYou will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans and will contribute to assessment, target setting and progress reporting.
