This specialist setting supports students aged 11–16 who are not currently in mainstream education due to a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Your New JobWe are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join this dynamic and supportive team from September 2025. This is a full-time, temporary position with the potential to be permanent for the right candidate. In this role, you will:
6. Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
7. Differentiate content to meet the diverse needs of learners, many of whom have SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges.
8. Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and progress.
9. Work closely with pastoral staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to support students’ academic and emotional development.
10. Contribute to the wider school ethos and behaviour management strategies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
11. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
12. Experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally within an alternative provision, PRU, or SEN setting.
13. Strong classroom management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
14. Amitment to inclusive education and the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable learners.
15. Resilience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting young people who face barriers to learning.
