Setting Out Engineer Civil Engineering Contractor (Kent-Based)

We’re working in partnership with a well-established civil engineering contractor operating across Kent and the South East. With a turnover exceeding £60M and a strong pipeline of infrastructure, groundworks, and 278 packages, they’re seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join their delivery team on a major project.
Key Responsibilities
* Accurate setting out for RC slabs, drainage runs, foundations, and structural elements.
* Use of Optical EDM and total station equipment for precise measurements and layout.
* Liaising with site management and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance.
* Maintaining site records, QA documentation, and as-built drawings.
* Supporting the site team with technical input and problem‑solving.
Requirements
* Proven experience in setting out for civils and RC works.
* Proficiency with Optical EDM and total station instruments.
* Strong understanding of reinforced concrete detailing and tolerances.
* Ability to work independently and communicate effectively on site.
Qualifications
* CSCS Card.
* Relevant engineering qualifications.
