PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for 2x Business Development Executives. One will be attached to our Manchester office and one will be attached to our London office. Candidates will be expected to work in the office two days per week.

SALARY: Base salary of £30,000 with an OTE of £50,000

Main Purpose and Scope of Job:

NRLA is an ambitious landlord and investor membership organisation which supports the PRS with access to professional advice, training, technology and benefits.

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving outbound sales activity across core NRLA products to drive b2b engagement in all core areas.

This is a fast-paced sales role that requires resilience, agility, and strong outbound sales experience (cold calling, lead generation, pipeline building). The BDE will be measured against both financial targets and activity-based KPIs (leads, meetings booked, conversion rates, etc).

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Outbound Sales & Lead Generation:

• Drive proactive outbound sales (calls, email, LinkedIn outreach, etc) to generate b2b leads and convert opportunities across NRLA’s core products

• Manage high-volume call activity with a focus on decision-maker engagement.

• Book qualified meetings for the Head of Sales Growth where required (particularly Safe2 letting agent opportunities).

• Nurture leads through the sales pipeline and maintain accurate CRM records.

• Where required, attend events to scope new business opportunities for NRLA.

Safe2 Sales (Letting Agent Focus):

• Engage with letting agents, developers, property managers, BTR operators, etc to introduce the Safe2 proposition, and onboard users to the Safe2 platform

• Build relationships and pass high-value opportunities to the Head of Sales Growth for further development.

NRLA Training & Membership Sales:

• Promote and sell NRLA training courses through b2b channels. These will include letting agents, local authorities, other membership organisations, developers, social housing organisations and property managers.

• Generate and close new membership sales opportunities.

Exhibitor and Events Sales:

• Sell exhibitor and sponsorship packages for NRLA events.

• Maintain and grow a robust pipeline of exhibitors, ensuring revenue targets are achieved.

Performance & Reporting:

• Work to agreed KPIs: daily call activity, meetings booked, conversion rates, and revenue.

• Provide weekly updates to the Head of Sales Growth on performance against targets.

Person Specifications

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualifications or qualifications by demonstrable experience

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong commercial acumen

• Astute to opportunity and pursue likely business.

Experience

Essential:

• Proven track record in outbound sales, cold calling, and business development.

• Target-driven with experience of working to financial and activity KPIs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident engaging senior decision makers.

• Highly organised, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced sales environment.

• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a wider sales team.

Desirable:

• Experience in property, membership organisations, or events sales.

• Understanding of the private rented sector or property compliance.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of housing safety regulations and compliance standards

• An understanding of the private rented sector and/or housing landscape would be advantageous

Personal Attributes and other requirements:

• Willing to travel and occasionally work unsocial hours

• Be a good team worker demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organization and team members

• Ability to work in either our London or Manchester office at least 2 days per week

• Energetic and self-motivated with a hunter mentality.

• Agile in approach — able to pivot focus quickly depending on business priorities.

• Collaborative mindset, working closely with the Head of Sales Growth and wider NRLA teams.

• Professional, persuasive, and commercially astute
