The Major Injury and Casualty team at DWF is one of the largest in the UK and is nationally recognised. We act for a large number of well‑known insurers, many of whom are household names, dealing with complex, catastrophic and large loss claims.
You will be assisting a Partner and Director who deal with a range of high value files up to £20 million, including injuries of utmost severity including brain injury, spinal injury, amputations, polytrauma, brachial plexus injury, severe psychiatric injury, chronic pain.
The role is based in Liverpool, and we are open to discussing flexible working patterns.

Responsibilities
* Assist our legal team to manage a caseload of high value claims, including a variety of defendant catastrophic injury, EL/PL, and RTA matters.
* Draft pleadings, reports to clients, attend court hearings, work to court deadlines, conduct liability investigations, gather evidence, instruct experts and consider interesting medical causation issues.
* Prioritise work effectively and maximise efficiency in working practices, adhering to court deadlines and directions, as well as the client’s service level agreements.
* Build working relationships internally and externally to maintain client relationships, develop business networks and create a solid understanding of the firm’s direction and client needs.
* Provide support and act as the ‘go to person’ for more junior members in the team.
Desirable Criteria
* 1–3 years paralegal experience, preferably within catastrophic injury, major loss, serious injury, or personal injury.
* Technically experienced in and a real interest in Employers Liability, Public Liability, RTA and catastrophic injury work.
* Experience handling personal injury files either in your own right, or as an assistant to more senior team members.
* Familiar with working in a commercial environment.
