Goods-in Operative Location: Crayford Salary: GBP27,000 - GBP30,000 per year Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Job type: Permanent, full-time. Bridge Recruitment is helping one of established clients recruit for an experienced Goods-in Operative to join their ever expanding team. You will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager. Responsibilities of the Goods-in Operative: · Responsible for all deliveries and collections. · Perform goods in quality inspection on all goods received according to the required LGX standards and inspection criteria. · Advise departments and suppliers of defective product found. · Ensure defective product is returned according to the LGX procedures in a timely fashion. · Produce and issue the required corrective action documents to the suppliers where non-conformances are found, ensuring follow up with the supplier to ensure future compliance to the LGX standards. · Responsible to update and maintain, where required, the goods in process, especially in terms of inspection batch size inspection, etc. · Booking goods into the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and completeness. · Produce goods in and inspection reports as and when required. · Responsible for booking in or quality queries, these should be dealt with promptly and efficiently. · Responsible to ensure the goods in area is at a high standard in terms of good housekeeping practise. · Attention to detail is a very important attribute for this position and is a key responsibility in the area. · Any delivery queries to be resolved with the purchasing department. · Follow the goods inwards and quality control procedures. · Receive and pack goods when offloaded from the supplier/courier with the required equipment, safely. · Responsible and accountable to your set KPIs (key performance indicators) relevant to the area. · Responsible for gauge control & calibration of measuring equipment Requirements of the Goods-in Operative: · Experience, knowledge and proficient in the use of verniers, height gauge, roughness measurement equipment, micrometre, radius gauges, etc. · Experience related to machined components from sub-tier machining & subcontract treatments suppliers. · Higher level gauge R&R and or metrology lab experience in a manufacturing type environment would be an advantage. · Experience working in a quality conscious manufacturing/ engineering environment, ideally within the engineering manufacturing sector. · Ability to accurately work to an agreed set of procedures · Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings · Worked in an ISO9001 or similar environment would an advantage. · Ability to manually measure and inspect machined parts · Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (Excel, Word etc.) · You must be able to take instruction, not only from your direct manager but related authority levels to get the job done. · Ability to build good rapport with all departments. · Excellent communication and organisation skills. · You must be able to work on your own initiative. · Experience with Sage Manufacturing or similar package. · Must have excellent attention to detail. · Forklift license (company will provide updated training if required) · Computer literate.
