The Legal & Compliance Department, part of Central Services based at Prax Headquarters in Weybridge, Surrey, seeks a Compliance Assistant. Reporting to the Group Ethics & Compliance Officer, the role involves performing customer due diligence checks on UK and international businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with Anti-Money Laundering activities, including implementing and conducting KYC processes within Prax and supporting KYC requests for the group.
2. Provide compliance support, collaborating closely with the IS&T, Risk, and Corporate Finance teams.
3. Conduct due diligence on new and existing counterparties to identify risks and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
4. Support the Group Legal team with on-site compliance activities.
5. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including documentation and reports, to ensure audit readiness.
6. Assist in creating, updating, and implementing the group’s Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
7. Manage concerns reporting mechanisms, including the hotline, Gifts and Entertainment register, and conflicts of interest register.
8. Support the setup and implementation of online compliance training for the entire Prax Group.
9. Keep compliance registers current and accurate.
10. Assist with GDPR compliance and data protection matters.
11. Perform other ad-hoc compliance duties as required.
Qualifications, Character, and Experience:
1. At least 2 years of experience in AML compliance.
2. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities, adapting to business needs.
3. Interest in process improvement and implementing change.
4. Advanced skills in MS Office applications.
5. Oil industry experience is advantageous.
6. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
7. Analytical mindset with strong communication skills.
8. Flexible and adaptable approach.
9. Availability to work five days a week in the office.
