About us Cambian Lufton College is a residential education specialist provision for young people who are 16 – 25. Our students may have autism, learning disabilities and associated complex needs and attend the college on a 2-3 year pathway to increase independence and prepare them for adulthood, and the world of work. The college has 3 different sites, one of which at our main college site has a animal care centre, and a passion for people and animals is a must! We are looking for passionate, fun, professional and ambitious Team Leaders to join our college team to oversee specific students’ residential provision at college, and to enable them to learn skills within the home, have positive new experiences, support their ambition and advocate for their views and wishes to improve their quality of life, at college and beyond. Role Overview You will work closely with other Team Leaders, and members of the college therapy, education, admin team and other care colleagues and have responsibility for the residential care support for up to 4 students. Working shifts and alternate weekends, you will act as duty manager for a specific site, and lead the team to support students to attend educational timetables, gain independent living skills and complete daily tasks and household chores, health and safety audits, support planning and risk assessments and work closely in conjunction with families, other professionals and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Coach, lead and supervise support staff, ensuring students are receiving personalised and enabling support To support students learn and progress towards independence in their preparation for adulthood, and have fun whilst doing so. Oversee the residential support for upto 4 students with a team of support staff, working alongside the students Tutor and clinical team. Promote choice and independence and support students to arrange activities and trips that they enjoy, encouraging trying new things and making friendships Being responsible for audits for health and safety, and observations to ensure quality and reporting to the Deputy Head of Care/Registered Manager Assist with administrative duties such as rota management, timetables for students, menu planning, activities and logging achievements and observations for student goals.
