Project Manager (Construction - Electrical/Infrastructure Preferred)
Location: Chester (site-based)
Rate: £60-£70 per hour (Umbrella PAYE)
Duration: Initial 12-14 months, with potential to extend
Working Pattern: 5 days per week, site-based
Start: ASAP (baseline clearance acceptable to start)
The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to support a major construction programme on a large-scale Nuclear site in Chester. The role is construction-facing and would suit someone with a strong general construction background, ideally with electrical or infrastructure experience.
Although titled Project Manager, the position is effectively operating as a Construction Manager, overseeing delivery of works ranging from £1m to £50m, including a major £50m building shell.
You will be responsible for managing site activities, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day construction management on site
Overseeing multiple work packages and contractors
Managing programme, cost, and quality delivery
Acting as the key construction interface with stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with H&S and site regulations
Supporting delivery of a large, multi-year construction programme
About You
Proven experience in construction or infrastructure projects
Background as a Project Manager or Construction Manager
Electrical experience highly desirable (but not essential)
Comfortable working on projects valued up to £50m
Degree preferred but not essential
Strong site presence and construction-facing mindset
Security Clearance
SC clearance preferred, however candidates may be able to start on baseline clearance while SC is progressed
