About the Client

They're currently looking to welcome a Finance Manager to join their small accounts team based in Cwmbran. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in legal finance who enjoys variety in their day-to-day and is motivated by building and leading a team.
In this hands-on and varied position, you’ll be part of a friendly finance team, taking the lead on supervising daily operations while supporting junior team members to develop and grow.
You’ll need to be confident working in a legal finance setting and have an understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) Ideally. Experience managing or mentoring others will be a real advantage too.
What You'll Be Doing
* Handling finance and account queries across the team
* Reconciling client accounts and monitoring balances
* Managing staff expense claims and processing card payments
* Posting daily bank statements, direct debits, and standing orders
* Inputting TT and BACS payments at volume
* Managing internal transfers between client and office accounts (SAR-compliant)
* Assisting with the purchase ledger and issuing cheques/payments
* Posting bills and processing payments within completion packs
* Supporting admin, telephone queries, and filing
* Preparing monthly financial reports and attending board/partner meetings as needed
* Liaising with external accountants to ensure compliance and finalisation of accounts
* Overseeing monthly payroll
* Leading and developing a small team of legal cashiers
What We're Looking For
* Someone with experience supervising a finance team, ideally within a legal environment
* A working knowledge of case management systems
* A proactive mindset with a drive to succeed and deliver a high standard of service
* Confident using tools like Excel to generate reports and manage data
* Willingness to occasionally travel to other offices when required
