Are you a motion designer who’s ready to take on creative direction but still loves getting hands-on with animation? Do you get excited about storytelling through motion, shaping brand identity, and pushing visual standards across digital platforms?
At Play Sports Network, we’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Motion Graphics Designer to join our in-house Creative team. You'll help lead the development of world-class motion design across our portfolio of global cycling and mountain biking YouTube channels - including Global Cycling Network (GCN), GMBN, GCN Tech - and across high-impact branded campaigns.
This is a role for someone who’s still passionate about hands-on design and animation, but also experienced in improving workflows, and partnering with stakeholders across content, marketing, and commercial teams.
Responsibilities
* Lead the creative direction and delivery of motion graphics across editorial, branded, and commercial content.
* Inspire and support fellow designers, providing creative guidance, constructive feedback, and helping prioritise day-to-day tasks.
* Work closely with teams across content, production, commercial, and marketing to interpret briefs, pitch ideas, and bring motion design to life.
* Maintain and evolve our motion branding, ensuring consistency and innovation across all channels and touchpoints.
* Manage multiple projects - from rapid-turnaround videos to longer-form campaigns - while hitting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
* Take ownership of workflow efficiency: from file organisation and archiving to templating and optimising design systems.
* Keep our content compliant with licensing requirements (fonts, music, stock).
* Contribute to creative development through pitch decks, mood boards, storyboards, and animation samples.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as a motion designer, ideally within an in-house digital or broadcast content team.
* Expert-level proficiency in After Effects and industry standard plugins
* Solid working knowledge of Cinema 4D (or similar 3D tools) and rendering workflows.
* Strong understanding of design fundamentals - layout, typography, colour theory - and how to apply them for digital platforms.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud apps (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro).
* A collaborative team player who communicates effectively and builds strong cross-functional relationships.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple timelines.
* Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities or fast-paced production environments.
Preferred Experience
* Degree in Motion Design, Animation, Graphic Design, or similar (or equivalent industry experience).
* Experience working in branded content, digital publishing, or social video environments.
* Understanding of YouTube content formats and visual trends.

* Built solid working relationships across departments and earned trust within the creative team.
* Delivered stand-out motion work that elevates the visual identity of our channels.
* Successfully led the design and execution of commercial or branded campaigns.
* Helped streamline design processes or introduced new tools to boost efficiency.
