Are you a strategic compliance leader ready to shape the future of financial regulation in the energy sector? E.ON Next is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Financial Compliance Manager to drive our compliance strategy, ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation while meeting FCA requirements.
Responsibilities
* Lead and shape strategy: Develop and execute a forward-thinking compliance strategy, aligning with FCA regulations and supporting our commercial ambitions including innovative financing and bundled offers. Leading the delivery of our compliance oversight and monitoring plan
* Be our FCA expert: Build strong relationships with the FCA, influence regulatory outcomes, and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
* Drive operational excellence: Oversee independent audits, monitor compliance, and ensure financial promotions meet FCA standards.
* Champion readiness: Prepare the business for new FCA permissions and ensure compliance is embedded across all initiatives.
* Collaborate and influence: Work cross-functionally to deliver training, QA frameworks, and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of compliance and strategic risk management.
Key qualifications
* Deep understanding of FCA regulations, particularly in consumer credit with a proven track record of keeping organisations compliant.
* Experience in both FCA-regulated and non-regulated environments - ideally in utilities, telecoms, or mobile services.
* Strategic mindset with the ability to influence, innovate, and drive change.
* Strong problem-solving skills and risk management expertise.
* 10+ years' experience in compliance, with a history of building or enhancing compliance teams.
* Ideally, knowledge of digital transformation, and a relevant professional qualification (CISI, ICA, or similar).
Desirable
* Engagement with key regulatory bodies and industry forums including Ofgem, DESNZ, Energy UK, and Citizens Advice.
* Background in policy development, regulatory change, or strategic compliance.
* Experience in energy, utilities, or similarly regulated sectors.
* Passion for sustainability, social impact, and purpose-driven work.
