About the Role
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Northwest team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with foster parents and other professionals to ensure the highest standards of care for the children placed with us.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload, ensuring high levels of supervision.
* Conduct regular supervision sessions with allocated foster parents, monitoring their practice and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other stakeholders to facilitate meaningful participation in meetings and decision-making processes.
* Engage in the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of foster parents.
* Maintain excellent report writing skills and adhere to strict deadlines.
What We’re Looking For
* A Social Work England qualification or equivalent, with current registration.
* Experience working within fostering and a comprehensive understanding of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
* Outstanding communication skills and a commitment to high-quality practice.
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as well as participate in an Out of Hours rota.
* A full driving licence and unrestricted access to your own vehicle.
* Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
Working Conditions
This role is based in the Northwest, with a 37-hour work week and a start date in March 2026. You will be part of a supportive team that values collaboration and professional development.
