SEN Teaching Assistant in Primary
Full-time | Term-time only | Immediate & upcoming starts available
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary setting. This role offers the chance to make a real difference by helping pupils thrive both academically and emotionally.
You’ll work closely with the class teacher to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning experiences, supporting both individuals and small groups. Some of your time will be spent offering targeted support to children with special educational needs, ensuring every pupil can access learning and feel valued in the classroom.
This is a role where patience, empathy, and teamwork truly shine. You’ll help create a classroom environment where children feel encouraged, understood, and motivated to succeed.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary classroom environment
• A calm, empathetic, and positive approach to behaviour and learning support
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Confidence in preparing and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential and feel included in all aspects of school life
Role Requirements
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
• A minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Experience supporting children with additional or special educational needs is desirable
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Availability during school hours, term-time only
